Rubberatkins Case Study
Rubberatkins is a privately owned Aberdeen based company that has provided Elastomer moulding excellence since 1988.
They are recognised as the Leading Global Provider of Innovative Elastomer Solutions with headquarters in Aberdeen and sales offices in Houston, Calgary, Abu Dhabi and Beijing. The company’s customer base ranges from Oil and Gas Operators and Top-Tier Service companies to companies involved at the forefront of space exploration.
Pitreavie were delighted to establish a supply partnership with Rubberatkins in 2017. This began with the supply of basic consumable packaging items such as tape, stretch-film and polythene.
Over the last 3 years, the relationship has developed further, enabling Pitreavie to supply an increased range of materials, in addition to the consumables, from several divisions across the Group.
From the new state-of-the-art corrugate manufacturing facility based in Cumbernauld, Pitreavie have now began supplying branded corrugated cartons to Rubberatkins. These are used to ship products to customers globally. The use of sustainable materials such as cardboard, along with striking Rubberatkins branding, has meant a win/win on both the environmental impact and the branding mission of their packaging.
More recently, Pitreavie Cases, the cases division of the Group have been commissioned to provide Rubberatkins with timber crates. The crates are manufactured from their facility based in Aberdeen, only a few hundred yards from Rubberatkins premises.
Local supply, with short lead-times, have meant that Pitreavie can react to customer demands whatever the situation and product required. Single vendor solution reduces administration costs and allows the businesses to develop a long-term business partnership.
Nick Atkins, Managing Director at Rubberatkins said “Pitreavie are a valued partner to Rubberatkins, a key enabler to transformation of our supply chain with innovative, cost effective solutions and services.”
Stephen Heslop, Managing Director at Pitreavie Group said “We look forward to continually developing our relationship with Rubberatkins by working closely with the organisation, exchanging information on innovations and best practises to enhance the range of materials and to improve the level of service the company’s customers”.
